ニーテック砦はベルンが発展する初期では防衛の機能をまだ果たしてはいたがベルンが大きくなるにつれ徐々にその機能が弱くなり、遂に1270年頃に取り壊された。現在のニーデック教会やニーデック橋辺りがこの砦の跡地となっている。
