宮殿 平城 ロワール川 16世紀 フランス・アンドル＝エ＝ロワール県のロワール渓谷内のコミューンであるヴィランドリーにある城である。 ルネサンス様式の美しい城で、典型的なロワールの古城の一つと言える。
城そのものよりも庭園の幾何学模様でその名を知られる。そのデザインは14世紀の古い文献に残されている。 所有者の変遷により一時期は庭園も公園に作り変えられるなどして荒廃したが、20世紀初めに所有者となった現オーナー一族の丹精込めた世話により往時の姿をみごとに回復し、バラやツゲをはじめとした様々な美しい花や樹を楽しめる。
The lands where an ancient fortress once stood were known as Colombier until the 17th century. Acquired in the early 16th century by Jean Le Breton, France's Controller-General for War under King Francis I, a new chateau was constructed around the original 14th-century keep where King Philip II of France once met Richard I of England to discuss peace.The chateau remained in the Le Breton family for more than two centuries until it was acquired by the Marquis de Castellane. During the French Revolution the property was confiscated and in the early 19th century Emperor Napoleon acquired it for his brother Joseph Bonaparte.
